Dal Tadka using NDH Nagendra Kitchen King Masala

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup toor dal (split pigeon peas)
  • 1 tsp NDH Nagendra Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp NDH Nagendra Kitchen King Masala
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the toor dal under cold water until the water runs clear. Add it to a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water, NDH Nagendra Turmeric Powder, and salt. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is cooked and mashable. Let the pressure release naturally.
  2. Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and dry red chillies and let them crackle for a few seconds.
  3. Add the finely chopped onion to the pan and sauté until it turns golden brown. Then add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add the finely chopped tomato and cook until it turns soft and mushy. Then add the NDH Nagendra Kitchen King Masala and stir well to combine.
  5. Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well. Let it simmer for a few minutes for the flavors to blend together. If the dal is too thick, add some water to achieve your desired consistency.
  6. Once the dal is cooked and the flavors are well blended, turn off the heat and garnish your Dal Tadka with fresh coriander leaves.
  7. Your Dal Tadka with NDH Nagendra Kitchen King Masala is ready to serve! Enjoy it with roti, naan, or rice for a satisfying meal.
